Hi there, as the founder of Motif, I wanted to introduce myself to you. My name is Craig Metz and I have lived in Hunterdon County all of my life. I grew up and lived in Clinton for more than 30 years, before relocating to Pittstown. I have owned and run several businesses throughout my life including e-commerce, photography, and an endless list of 'ventures' i took during my High School and College years. I have a Finance Degree from James Madison University and an MBA from Champlain College. Motif also gets some assistance from my awesome wife Shannon who is a CPA for Withum, Smith, and Brown. Shannon and I have one daughter, the perpetually smiley Melody, who has absolutely stolen our hearts.
I didn't just end up here, I have arrived here. I have wanted to take on this business since I started my MBA roughly 3 years ago. I have over 8 years of experience in project management, consulting, and software implementation, but I knew that I wanted to shift gears and take on the Small Business world. I did this because I have seen first hand the kind of turnover we have seen in this great community, and I want to help local businesses reach their full potential. I want to speak with businesses that are searching for ways to reach new customers, achieve greater revenue, and find personal satisfaction in the fact that goals are being reached. I care deeply about this community and that is why I have chosen to make a life here. Motif will always pledge to make this a better place in more ways than helping businesses, but more on that later.
Most importantly, I want to meet you. My biggest challenge in promoting this business has been attaching a face to what I am doing. There is a challenge in wading through the many meaningless google ads and facebook ads, and all other means for finding local businesses. Despite maintaining a heavy social media presence, I want to make clear to you that I am always willing to meet for coffee in Clinton, pizza in Flemington, or a beverage in Lambertville. Small Business can benefit from Social Media presence, but nothing will ever trump the face behind the brand. I am not looking to hard sell you, I am looking to have a conversation on what challenges you are facing, your fears, and your prospects. If we part ways without fostering a working relationship, I will take solace in the fact that I have heard from another community member and I am working towards taking the pulse of Hunterdon Small Businesses.
Thanks for reading, and I hope to hear from you soon.
